In my playthrough I did knock out these 2 workers. By then it's too late - if you knocked out the workers earlier and then rush back to the boat, you'll see two soldiers standing near their bloodied corpses.ĮDIT: User ReleaseMe points out that it is possible to knock out the two workers without triggering this bug by doing as follows: The scripted action seems to occur only when you go to the back of the black market shop and overhear the female smuggler chat with the black market dealer. It's annoying, but when you think about it, it's the same thing as having bloodflies/rats attack an unconscious body, or an unconscious body falling from a height. If you knocked out the workers earlier, the guards will kill them and it counts as YOUR kill. The reason is that later on in the level, there's a scripted action where two soldiers go to the boat to confiscate the illegal goods, and they will kill the workers.
In the grand palace level, shortly after you get off the skiff, you'll notice a boat full of illegal goods with two workers standing by it and chatting. If you're like me and enjoy knocking out as many NPCs as possible during a Clean Hands run, I discovered a bug (or just a flawed feature) that will ruin the Clean Hands run.
